Looking Back on a Season of Artistic Inspiration
As we bid farewell to another memorable season, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the unwavering commitment of all members and partners of the FEDORA Community. Your contribution has been instrumental in nurturing emerging artists' careers, fostering the transformation of cultural organisations, and championing innovative projects throughout the year.
This season has been especially marked by the passing of our late Honorary President Jérôme-François Zieseniss, whose legacy continues to guide us under the leadership of our new President Stéphane Argyropoulos.
From the remarkable premieres of the FEDORA Prizes winners to the enriching conferences attended by our team, this season has been filled with unforgettable shared moments.

One of the first events of the season was the Grand Opening Gala at the Paris national Opera, a spectacular celebration of dance that our team members had the opportunity to attend alongside our Board and Members.
On 21 September 2024, the Golden Prague International Television Festival celebrated its 60th edition, where our Funding Manager, Diandra de Lima, had the opportunity to attend alongside representatives of the FEDORA Digital Prize Winners during the session “The FEDORA Digital Prize: Exploring Opportunities for Digital Creativity”.
On 5, 6, and 7 October 2024, the Opera Europa Autumn Conference brought industry leaders together to discuss the future of opera and share best practices. Our team members attended the conference and had the opportunity to see XR Stage and ISOLDE, two of the FEDORA 2022 Next Stage Grants Recipients, that were showcased at this conference.
On 19 October 2024 , the highly anticipated Mont Ventoux premiere, winner of the FEDORA - VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Dance Prize 2023, led by Kor’Sia, captivated audiences in Madrid, Spain.
On 2 November 2024, we organised with our corporate member Drooms a reception on the occasion of the IBA Annual Conference in Paris, welcoming 60 lawyers from all over the world at the Palais Garnier.
On 17 November 2023, FEDORA organised a special event at Oper Frankfurt for our members based in Germany where they had the opportunity to attend the last performance of Fedora by Umberto Giordano, directed by Christof Loy, and to meet the talented cast.

Our Director Edilia Gänz attended the launch of Luc Speisser’s book, Président par intérim: Dans les coulisses d'une transformation d'entreprise réussie, where he highlights also the innovative brand identity created for FEDORA by Landor as our pro-bono expert partner.
On the 10 & 11 February, Seisme, nominated for the FEDORA Digital Prize 2023, had their awaited premiere at the Opéra Comédie in Montpellier.
On 13 February 2024, Erwartung, nominee of the FEDORA Digital Prize 2023, premiered their innovative live VR show at the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna, marking the 150th birthday of composer Arnold Schönberg.
In February 2024, we were very saddened by the sudden passing of our President Jérôme-François Zieseniss, who had been the President of FEDORA since 2013. The Board appointed Jérome-François Zieseniss as Honorary President of FEDORA, in honour of his legacy.

Appointed by the Board of FEDORA on 19 February 2024, Stéphane Argyropoulos, becomes the new President of FEDORA after the sudden passing of FEDORA’s late Honorary President Jérôme-François Zieseniss. Stéphane Argyropoulos was previously the Vice-President of FEDORA and has been a member of the Board since 2022. He is also the Founder and President of The Silver Company, the sponsor of the FEDORA Opera Prize.

On 17 to 21 February 2024, our Funding Programmes Manager, Diandra de Lima, and Communications Coordinator, Lea Bou Fadel, represented the FEDORA team at the IMZ International Music + Media Centre Avant Première Music + Media Market 2024 in Berlin, Germany. The panel discussion "Driving Digital Innovation in Opera and Dance" featured FEDORA Prizes Winners and Next Stage Grants Recipients to talk about the impact of digital innovation in the sector.
Winner of the FEDORA - Van Cleef & Arpels Dance Prize 2017, Love Chapter 2 had three performances at the Theatre du Rond Point in Paris, France, where our team members and guests were able to attend the wonderful performance.
As part of our Ambassador Series, we had the opportunity to interview Björn Bender, President & CEO of Rail Europe, as Rail Europe joined as new corporate members, helping develop the mission of sustainable and eco-friendly mobility to boost access to the performing arts across Europe.
Members of our team attended the Opera Europa Spring Conference about AUDIENCES in Vienna, Austria on 11-14 April 2024. Our Director, Edilia Gänz, participated in the panel discussion “Matchmaking Between Donors and Projects”.
At the New European Bauhaus Festival, which promotes a sustainable and inclusive future inspired by art and culture, our FEDORA team members showcased the project Sustainable Costumes, winner of the Next Stage Initiative Grant 2022. We had the honour of presenting this initiative to a distinguished audience, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, and other notable officials.
As part of our Ambassador Series, we had the opportunity to interview Mirza Telzerow, European People Director at Kearney, and member of the Next Stage Grants Jury. Mirja shared her perspective on the importance of pro-bono partnerships, innovation, digital transformation, and a strong community as Kearney represents the FEDORA Digital Prize sponsor and Next Stage pro-bono expert partner.
On 20 April 2024, Panoptique, winner of the FEDORA Education Prize 2023, led by Le Collectif Meute, reached the stage for its world premiere at La Barcarolle in Saint-Omer, France.
We had the pleasure to film an exclusive interview at the Palais Garnier with Judith Videcoq, Head of Unit of Creative Europe, Directorate General of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture of the European Commission, that emphasised the important role culture plays in Europe and how the Creative Europe programme supports and nurtures European diversity, creativity and competitiveness.
From 3 - 8 June 2024, OPERA America welcomed the international opera community to Los Angeles, hosted by the LA Opera, for a weeklong global gathering of professionals in the opera sector. Our Members and Development Manager, Justin Touchon, represented the FEDORA Team on this occasion and participated in both the World Opera Forum and Opera America Conference 2024.
The FEDORA Platform’s Board Meeting took place at the Palais Garnier in June, chaired for the first time by our new President Stephane Argyropoulos. The Board defined together the future objectives and strategies of our organisation, in continuity of our late Honorary President Jérôme-François Zieseniss’ legacy, committed to supporting innovation, collaboration and emerging talent.
On 28 June 2024, our director had the opportunity to celebrate Panoptique in their Belgian premiere at the Theatre Marni in Brussels, in the presence of Bernard Foccroulle (former FEDORA Education Prize Jury Chair) and Judith Videcoq, Laura Serrao and Olga Sismanidi from the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
As part of our Ambassador Series, we had the opportunity to interview Morgane Basque, Counsel IT at Bird & Bird France, who highlighted how our collaboration is rooted in shared values of creativity, sustainability, digital innovation, and diversity as our valuable global legal pro-bono partner over the past years.
On the day of the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games hosted in Paris in 2024, FEDORA was proud to announce a collaboration with the e-OLY House, the Olympians' online home during the Olympic Games. e-OLY House is one of the many ways the World Olympians Association seeks to keep Olympians around the world connected to each other and to the Olympic Movement.
